Skin Foods are found in SERUMS & OILS for optimal Skin Health

Whether you apply Skin Silk or Antioxidant with Seabuckthorn and Carrot Root before the Good Nights’ Glow Oil or Morning Ritual Renewal Oil,  or mix the serum and oil together, the addition of the oil will help prevent potential moisture loss through evaporation whilst providing the skin with essential fats and phytonutrients.

You can put all the face oil on your face and still have dry skin, why is that?

Face oils are amazing for nourishing the skin, preventing moisture loss and increasing the skin's barrier response but they do not actually supply hydration themselves. Dehydrated skin in fact requires products containing hydrophilic ingredients and humectants such as aloe vera, glycerin and hyaluronic acid. These humectants help draw moisture to the skin and keep it in place.

Along with vital minerals, vitamins and antioxidants you will find an array of hydrating ingredients in our Skin Silk  & Antioxidant serums and in the Floral Toning Elixir with Kakadu Plum and Sea Kelp (to be released soon). These lighter-weight and hydrating products are best applied first and in partnership with the nourishing face oils I have created.

When combined together the two in essence create what we know as a lotion or cream. The difference is that to bind hydrophilic products and hydrophobic products ingredients known as solubilizers and emulsifiers are required to prevent separation. These ingredients are not all bad, but we have decided to keep our hydrophilic and hydrophobic ingredients separate primarily for two reasons: to avoid the addition of unnecessary ingredients and so that your routine may be customized to your needs using the building blocks of #plantfood serums and oils.

In summation, the skin needs both hydration (serums) and fatty acid nourishment (oils) for optimal health and appearance. If you tend towards blemish prone skin we highly recommend Skin Silk + Morning Ritual Renewal, and if you tend towards dry skin I suggest using the Antioxidant Serum with Seabuckthorn and Carrot Root + Good Nights’ Glow or Kangaroo Flower Oil. If you have normal skin, sometimes prone to a occasional redness or a breakout or two, I recommend the Barrier Strengthening & Collagen Building Carotenoid Serum with Astaxanthin & Kiwi Extract or the Hibiscus and Rose Plumping Serum with the Kakadu Plum Natural Glow Oil, which can be used on all skin types and all throughout the day. Whether you choose Skin Silk or the Antioxidant serum, do try it tonight mixed with your East Sound Lane oil of choice - together they create the perfect pallet for you to give yourself a quick but relaxing facial massage (only quick if you don’t have the time for a longer one). I love using my Guasha stone as well as my hands (I believe hands are our best tools when it comes to our skin and keeping it looking healthy and fresh).
