I’m Allie, the founder and creator of East Sound Lane. I grew up spending my summers on Martha’s Vineyard at the house my grandparents bought in the late 70s. Inherited my passion for plants, flowers and simple skincare from my mother and grandmother.
Later on, after a career as a news room producer, I decided to quit and go to culinary school. During that time, instead of cooking food, I was busy using the physics and chemistry parts of cooking and baking on making my own skincare products. After being a chef for two years, I decided to follow my passion for skincare and go to aesthetics school. One of the silver linings during covid was that I finally started something i’ve been wanting to do for so long!
Simple Skincare: FACT: Skin is our largest organ. 60% of what we put on our skin penetrates deeply into our bloodstream so it’s important to be conscious with what you put on your face and body. For this reason, I use minimal ingredients as much as possible.
My plant-based ingredients are grown in my family’s garden, free of any nasty pesticides, and hand harvested by me. I also spent some time working at a local on island nursery, where they provided me with flowers that were no longer beautiful enough to sell. All of the roses and rosehips I use in my ingredients are foraged from the wild.
All my products are 100% natural and made primarily from plants. I never use parabens, formaldehyde, synthetic dyes or fragrances, phthalates, and sulfates. I make everything by hand in small batches making sure to abide to the highest standards. I hope you enjoy them as much as me!
